How to treat PFOA, PFOS, and PFC in Your Drinking Water
Does your water…
Taste “off” or “funny”?
Look cloudy or otherwise not crystal-clear?
Have an unpleasant odor?
Or, have your water bills increased unexpectedly – for no obvious reason?
If so, these are signs that you might have an issue going on in your water that you need to get tested.
PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid or perfluorooctanoate) and PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) are chemicals that have been used in the United States since the 1940s in the manufacturing of popular consumer goods including Teflon, pesticides, household cleaning products, and other other items.
[PFOA and PFOS] are “extremely persistent in the environment and resistant to typical environmental degradation processes. They are widely distributed across the higher trophic levels and are found in soil, air and groundwater at sites across the United States. The toxicity, mobility and bioaccumulation potential of PFOS and PFOA pose potential adverse effects for the environment and human health.
The EPA has released a Drinking Water Advisory for PFOS which reveals potentially serious issues linking PFOS and PFOA to conditions like cancer, neuroendocrine conditions, cardiovascular problems, reproductive issues, and more.
If you suspect you have PFOA or PFC in your drinking water it’s important that you get your water tested. We can help you navigate that process with the proper state agencies.
If you’ve already determined your water has been contaminated with PFOA, then fill-out the form below so we can review your water test results and explain our customized, laboratory-verified solution for improving your drinking water.
The service man, I think his name is Chris, was very professional, easy to communicate with, and most efficient. Culligan is fortunate he represents the company.
Peggy 1st apologized for how busy they were and set my expectation for tomorrow or early next week. What a pleasant surprise when I got there and Tony and Tyler arrived to provide service. It was not only faster than I expected but service above expectation. They replaced the machine older machine and really impressed me with how professional and exceptional the service was. Great water system.
Every person we had interaction with who is very personable, efficient, and extremely helpful. I would recommend Culligan products to anyone as the physical equipment is very high-quality, and the installers know exactly what they are doing. The big plus is you can rent their equipment for a very reasonable price every month as opposed to buying your own equipment at a big box store, spending a lot of money and then having to maintain it yourself and install it yourself. and, if the equipment malfunctions or breaks, Culligan will be out and repair or replace it for no extra charge. You can’t go wrong with the Culligan man.
I had a flood in my basement when I returned from vacation. Culligan helped handle, clean-up and made sure the unit was working to its optimum capacity. I was so grateful for their kindness, professionalism and excellent work!
I love my Culligan water! Very professional, all the way through the first contact with Harry, to the install, to one trouble shooting visit. Many thanks!
Been getting my water here for years, delivery service is always good, I live on third floor, and its at my door on time. Wait time from ordering can be a week or two, so i have to plan ahead and keep a bottle around. Prices aren't bad, a little more than filling them myself, but it tastes better, and I don't have to transport them
